Réfractions

Dans un couloir souterrain délabré, un fauteuil club qui ne devrait pas s’y trouver nous invite a nous assoir, comme une apparition. Les verts, bruns, ocres et mauves pâles semblent se propager comme par un effet de réfractions. La dichotomie s’opère aussi par l’opposition entre le fauteuil accueillant et l’endroit angoissant où il se trouve. La vie nous apprends parfois que le confort peut mener a l’inconfort et vice versa. Lorsqu’au plus mal, dans une situation inextricable, on fini par se résigner, par accepter, on ne se laisse aucune chance.

In a dilapidated underground corridor, a club chair that shouldn’t be there invites us to sit down, like an apparition. Greens, browns, ochres and pale mauves seem to spread as if by an effect of refractions. The dichotomy also operates through the opposition between the welcoming armchair and the distressing place in which it finds itself. Life sometimes teaches us that comfort can lead to discomfort and vice versa. When at worst, in an inextricable situation, you end up resigning yourself, accepting, you don’t give yourself a chance.
